Montphoto GALA 2012. VERDICT

On the past 6th December, was held in Lloret de Mar the gala awards ceremony of the international photography contest of Nature and Mountain, Montphoto 2012. Event was held at the Palace Evenia Hotel. Professional photographers and amateur participants of all ages and countries, jurors members and authorities filled the auditorium, waiting to know the official verdict. Great winner of the night was Enrique Lopez-Tapia de Inés with his work art, 'Kalapatthar' which won the award for Best photography in the Montphoto contest.

During the same gala inaugurated the official exhibition and presented the new catalog / book contest, Inspirats per la natura 2012, with photos finalists and winners of this edition.

Tino Soriano, Albert Maso, Jose Benito Ruiz and the presidents of the Spanish Confederation of Photography and the Catalan Federation of Photography and jurors attending the gala were among those responsible for granting 24 awards and 92 honorable mentions of this edition, divided into 10 categories.

Jury of this year, formed by Andoni Canela, Ole Jorgen Liodden, Sandra Bartocha, Alexandre Buisse, Jordi Chias and David Munilla had to deal with more than 4,000 photographs to select the 102 images that form the official contest exhibition.

Gala of this year coincided with the Congress AEFONA (Spanish association of Nature photographers) that took place between 6th and 9th December in this same hotel. Montphoto, this year, as integral part of the local organization group had scheduled for the congress, lectures and audiovisual of three of presents jurors: Ole Jorgen Liodden, Andoni Canela and Sandra Bartocha.

Montphoto celebrating its fifteenth anniversary and according to as its president, Paco Membrives, and vice president, Albert Torras: "the unprecedented success of this call goes to show that the contest has already established itself as one of the best nature photography contests and mountain internationally talking. This fact encourages us to continue working and fighting for its continuity and future. "
