JURY 2011

As usual, and this year could not be less we present you with a brief statement the jury selected for the 2011 Edition:

He was born in Bilbao in 1975. Since his childhood he is interested in art, still in his youth when discusses the painting so much oil, watercolor, pastel, conté, etc. He studied these arts for nearly a decade at the Academy of drawing Unzalu. He started in photography from the hand of his father, which teaches both the operation of the camera and developed at laboratory B & W.His photographs are published in various media, which include:National Geographic, Nora, Pyrenees Magazine, Basque Magazine, etc.

He has collaborated in the elaboration of different books as: "Creative photography of landscape" - José Benito Ruiz, 2005, "Vision Salvaje 2006", "Mont, muntanya i natura images.", "10 the Montbarbat anys" 2007 and "Natura: regards sur la nature " 2011.

His images are part of the collections of various institutions and his work has won awards in prestigious competitions, both nationally and internationally, highlighting: the title of artist of the Spanish Confederation of photography, two awards in Europe Wildlife Photographer of the Year, two Highlight the GLANZLICHTER and different medals of the F.I.A.P. with the C.E.F.

Journalist and photography enthusiast.

Lover of the great spaces, who enjoys Mountaineer and hiker from a young age.

He was one of the first moderators and founders of the website Fotonatura.org, one of the existing related international of nature photography.

Since 2008 is responsible for the digital magazine of Fotonatura.

Founding partner of the Catalan society of Natura photographers integrated in the Institució Catalana d'Història Natural. In the entity commissioned to coordinate the publication of the monograph of photographic practice bona (good photographic practice notebook).

His works appear in publications and information centres in Extremadura, in which lies and community which is partner of the Extremadura nature photographers collective.

Isabel is an outstanding photographer of the landscape. Her photographs range from his beloved Basque coast to distant ice of Alaska, the forests of Costa Rica or the sand dunes of death Valley in California. Change textures, forms and colors, but all of his landscapes have in common the presence of a strong aesthetic burden, they are evocative, intense, mysterious sometimes.

These features have led him to obtain prizes in prestigious competitions such as Nature's Best Photography, GDT - European Wildlife Photographer of the Year and Glanzlichter. A sample of his work is collected in the book "at the edge of the tides" (2009), where the author captures his admiration and curiosity along the edge of the sea.

Beyond documentary component, interest is focused on the development of the personal vision of the photographer, aspect which affects the talks and workshops offered.

He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Aefona, Spanish Association of nature photographers.

He discovered the nature climbing mountains and pointing in a list of more summits of three thousand meters that got in the Pyrenees. Gradually he realized that the car park and the Summit had many interesting things: valleys, villages, forests, flowers and birds. The picture has served to dedicate life to what he likes: life in the open air, the landscape monitoring, discover new ways and new locations, see how to change the light and travel around the world.

I have specialized in landscape photography, although he also devotes time to photograph plants and animals. He has worked with various formats, from Chambers of universal way to big formats with optical Bank cameras which are which have more seduced him. More recently, works with digital cameras.

It does not have the habit of participating in contests, but it was the first Catalan get a "highly commended" in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year, the year 1996. Published photographs in several countries and he has done four books by author: "Catalunya Íntima", "views in Catalonia, the country Valencià i les Illes Balears: which tenim i not podem perdre", "Cims de Catalunya" and "Parcs i altres espais protegits of Catalonia".

He has always liked to communicate with each other and loves to talk about photography. This passion has brought him to directing photography courses in several entities naturalists and hikers. It is nature photography Professor at the Centre per the image i Tecnologia Multimèdia, UPC, and in the Centre of resources per a the Animal biodiversity of the UB.

German photographer, born in 1956, studied philosophy, art and biology race. He started in the world of photography in 1984. In 1991 becomes member of the GDT (Gesellschaft Deutscher Tierfotografen, the society of German nature photographers), being its President since 1992 a1995.

Since 1995 he has worked as a freelance photographer and has published stories in National Geographic, GEO and other international journals, and the following books:

· "Kamchatka" - eagles, bears and volcanoes (1997)

· "Adlerleben"-(1999) American bald eagle

· "Return of the Emperor" - European bison in the primitive forests of Poland (2004)

· "Kranich" - European cranes (2007)

It has received the Fritz Steininger award by the GDT, as well as several prizes of the contest for the BBC and other competitions

Climber, photographer, photo and video editor Fernando Núñez is also a helicopter pilot and a passionate Wanderer from travel and the

mountain. Member and cofounder of OjoVertical.com, a project which has been able to expand their photographic and literary, concerns has been able to contribute to the expansion and dissemination of the photograph of climbing articles, photos and various collaborations in specialized magazines in the sector such as slope, climbing, Base camp, Climbing Magazine, etc.

Locating their photographic projects at the national and international territory, having portrayed their passions and concerns over the five continents. Lover of the slides and the negative, long ago it opened its doors to the digital world, trying to get the juice from each of the tools that the new era has brought us, trying to not cross the boundaries of the distortion masked today surrounds us.
