MontPhoto 2016 presents MontPhoto - WWF Grant
The aim of this call is to provide a Grant of 6,000 € for the development, continuation and conclusion of a photographic project, whose theme is conservation.
Award: 6,000 euros. The project will be published in our book Inspired by Nature and an exhibition of it will be produced and exhibited at the festival. The winner will be invited to the festival for the presentation of the project and the vernissage of its exhibition.
Participation:The competition is open to all adult photographers, both professionals and amateurs of any nationality. Excluded of this award are all organization members, sponsors and collaborators (relatives included).
The project: To participate you must provide a photoreportage (6-10 photographs) concerning one single topic,it must respect the criteria and technical requirements described in these rules, and theregistration form completed.
The granted author, once completed the project, will send the files (which won’t have to match the original files of the registration process) respecting all the terms described on the basis. These will be reproduced in form of an exhibition up to 20 photographs.
Topic:Up to the author as long as is considered a conservation project, meaning all projects with a main mission of preserving nature’s future, environment or some of its components: flora and fauna, different ecosystems or landscape values among others.
The Jury: It will consist of a team of renowned professionals belonging the world of nature photography, journalism and conservation; it will not have to coincide entirely with the official jury of MontPhoto 2016.
Among all presented projects, a single one will be selected as a winner.
Evaluation criteria: The graphic quality of the project and its documentary basis.
Registration fee: WWF-MontPhoto Grant has no additional costs beyond thenormal participation at the MontPhoto contest. The MontPhoto 2016 contest participation is 20€, and the payment is to be made online only, via PayPal or credit card.
Calendar:
● Closing date: 02 May 2016
● Announcement (confidential) to the winner will be next 30 June 2016.
● Duration of the Grant:the project should be completed and submitted before 30 June 2017.
● Jury's Decision: the awardee will be presented on October 1 2016, at the gala awards ceremony contest MontPhoto in Lloret de Mar.
● The completed project will be presented in premiere at the 21st edition of MontPhoto Festival, in October 2017 in Lloret de Mar, as an exhibition.
Registration
Take part in MontPhoto-WWF Grant, is necessary:
1. Register on www.montphoto.com
2. An entry to the MontPhoto contest 2016 is required. After having paid the registration fees.
3. Fill out the registration form online (available on the web www.montphoto.com)The organization may request additional information when appropriate, at any stage of the verdict.
4. Send 6-10 photographs from the project. The images must be sent as JPEG with the color space sRGB profile embedded. The size must be 1,920 pixels on its longest side and the RAW files must be available to request.
Requirements:
The project must be novel. Any project shall be considered novel when not presented or published before and the work may not have independently received any award, nor have been published in media as a project, both in a partial and in a total way. Single photos may have.
Finished Projects will not be accepted. Admitted are those projects in creation process regardless of their start date. Also those works published in personal websites serving as self-promotion to authors. But not those published in other media alien to the author.
Only nature related works and especially conservation projects will be accepted, thus those projects concerning other topics will be excluded.
The technical requirements of the images submitted to the scholarship, must follow the criteria described in the MontPhoto2016 contest rules
We want to remind you is mandatory to have theRAW files of all the images both presented and also the images that will be part of the exhibition project. Regarding the exhibition, the photos must be at least 8MP to provide the best quality.
Project awarded
The jury will award a single price among all the projects submitted.
The winning project will be communicated confidentially to the author next June 30 2016.
The winning story will be announced publicly at the 20th edition of FEST and presented in premiereat the 21st MontPhoto FEST 2017, in Lloret de Mar, by means of a conference by its author and an exhibition produced by the organization. Besides, the project will be included in the publication Inspired by Nature, book of the winning images of the contest.
The scholarship consists of two economic endowments of 3,000 euros. The first will take effect on October 1, 2016, during the gala MontPhoto Awards, and the second on June 30, 2017.
After the scholarship is granted, the awardee is committed to deliver the work within the time limits and terms set forth in these rules. Failure complies the suspension of the scholarship.

Legal aspects
Participants must declare they are the authors of each of their works and have all the rights over them.
Pictures where a recognizable or identifiable person appears, must have the express consent of the person in question and a Release Form attached to the image. MontPhoto will not take any responsibility of any suits made to the author, this can be a reason of disqualifying that photograph.
The images of the winning project, as well as images that integrate the exhibition of the winning project can be reproduced in books, catalogues, posters or any other printed or digital support, as well as distributed to press and/or magazines for promotiing and broadcasting MontPhoto and the MontPhoto-WWF grant. The author's name will always be mentioned, therefore the author will disinterestedly cede the reproduction rights to the organization of the contest for this purpose.
This cession has a nonexclusive character but can be extended to any reedition.
The organization will compensate the author for the reproduced works with a copy of each published book.
All personal data from the participants will be treated with the maximum confidentiality by the organization according to the organic Spanish law 15/1999 of data protection (LOPD).
Taking part in MontPhoto 2016 edition, and MontPhoto - WWF Grant, implies the acceptance of all the competition rules. The official rules are in Spanish. The organization can resolve any case not provided in them.
