The MontPhoto International Nature Photography Competition is back, celebrating its 30th edition this year and solidifying its position as one of the most important events on the global photography calendar. Based in Lloret de Mar (Girona), MontPhoto celebrates three decades of rewarding excellence, creativity, and commitment to the conservation of the natural environment.
To commemorate this special edition, the competition incorporates significant new features that reinforce its spirit of evolution and openness.
MontPhoto retains the Portfolio and Storytelling categories (Agustí Maria Vilà i Galí Award), which were so successful last year, along with the Special Awards and recognitions for members of the MontPhoto Community, given to the highest-rated images in each section.
The Young Photographers category has also been revamped, now offering a cash prize. This way, we avoid awarding items that might not be practical for the young winner.
All authors receiving honorable mentions will have their trip to the awards gala paid for by the organizers at the event's partner hotel.
Submissions are now open through the official website, with a deadline of March 23, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Participants can upload or edit their photographs directly on the competition's online platform.
MontPhoto invites all photography and nature enthusiasts to join its Community, an international network committed to conservation, environmental education, and inspiration through photography. Becoming a member offers numerous benefits: free entry to the competition, annual subscription to the book “Inspirats per la Natura” (Inspired by Nature), and discounts of up to 50% on products, activities, and tickets to the MontPhoto Festival, which will be held the first weekend of October in Lloret de Mar.
The winning photographers will be notified in mid-June, while the overall winners will be announced during the awards ceremony that will open the Festival on October 2nd.
