81 finalists announced for the 29th edition of the MontPhoto Awards
August 2025. The 81 finalist photographs, submitted by photographers of 13 different nationalities, have now been selected to compete for awards in each of the 11 categories of the MontPhoto 2025 competition.
The international jury — composed of Morgan Heim, Diana Crestan, Heike Odermatt, Francis Pérez, and Eladio Rodríguez — dedicated two months to reviewing and deliberating over the more than 13,000 images received. The process involved several rounds of online selection, culminating in a final in-person session. The outcome of this rigorous evaluation is the list of works that will form part of the MontPhoto 2025 exhibition.
Each category will award a first and second prize, as well as five honorable mentions. In the collections, there will be one winner each for the Portfolio and Storytelling categories, along with three honorable mentions per section. In addition, the competition’s most prestigious honor, the MontPhoto 2025 Award, will once again pose a particularly difficult decision for the jury due to the exceptional quality of the works submitted.
The 29th edition of MontPhoto FEST will take place from October 3 to 5 at the Lloret de Mar Theater, with the award ceremony scheduled for October 4, when winners across all categories will be announced.
The finalist images are already available on the website. Registered users may vote for their favorites until September 21. Participants who correctly identify the greatest number of award-winning images in each category will receive gifts during the festival gala, including subscriptions to Oryx magazine, materials, discounts, and training experiences provided by Foto Ruano.
Adding to the celebration, renowned pianist Yoko Suzuki will present her new album during the gala. The work includes 11 pieces inspired by the 11 awards corresponding to each contest category.
MontPhoto FEST has also begun to unveil its extensive and high-quality speaker program. This festival is an essential gathering for all who value both nature conservation and photography. Over the course of three days, attendees will enjoy exhibitions, workshops, and lectures by international experts such as Morgan Heim, Samuel Aranda, Rachel Bigsby, and Francis Pérez, among others.
The festival promotes conservation and seeks to inspire the protection of nature by sharing images and stories that connect people from across the globe.
