Description: A male Torrent Duck (Merganetta armata) is resting for a few moments before going back into the water to search for food in the middle of the strong current of the glacier river. To capture the energy in the environment of this skilful duck, a slow shutter speed was used.

Description: Basilisks (in the picture, Basiliscus galeritus) is the only group of lizards capables of running over the water. This large male did not take long to throw himself into the water after letting me take a few shots. With the wide-angle lens I wanted to frame this specimen in its habitat.

Bald Eagle under a snowstorm de David Allemand de Puget sur Durance (Francia)

Description: It was a winter day in Canada and very cold weather. I was taking pictures of Bald eagles (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) since many days, observing their daily behaviour. It was particularly difficult to make images, because the wind was blowing as the snow was falling. I saw this bald eagle in the middle of the snowstorm, the movements of the snowflakes was creating very graphic oblique lines. Mixed With the lines of the branches, I thought that it could be a dramatic and original background for this superb eagle.

Description: This is one of my favourite musk ox (Ovibos moschatus) pictures, I took it in 2012. It was autumn: the temperatures were below zero degrees centigrade and I saw the musk ox female standing on another mountain. The sun and the clouds were perfect for a picture. There was just one little problem: there was a river in the valley between us. I decided to take off my trousers and shoes and to wade through the river. I had the opportunity to take this picture, with just the sun behind the musk ox.

Description: These baby seagulls are waiting for their mothers to bring food to this tiny nest made on the small projections of the rock. It is surprising how these birds could build their nests on such a small space and survive in them to the strong winds of the area.
