Pascal Beaudenon de Amsterdam (Països Baixos)
Lugar: Amsterdam, Països Baixos
Descripción: Amsterdam, August 2013. The coots(Fulica Atra) - called the "Meerkoet" in Dutch - are here on their territory. They are a protected species. Through my viewfinder, I see this wounded coot pierced by a crossbow bolt. The bird behaves normally despite an evident discomfort. Called to help, a local fauna specialist, he builds a strategy to approach the bird slowly by observing it and delimitating his habitat throughout the coming days, so as not to scare it. Three weeks later, the bird's sudden disappearance remains an enigma. Did it go elsewhere or did it simply die? Crossbows are sold legally in the Netherlands but their use is strictly regulated.
