Descripción: Caminando sobre rocas de lava ubicadas junto al mar encontré a esta iguana marina mirándome fijamente, me sedujo su expresión y decidí hacerle un retrato. Tuve que empinarme para lograr el ángulo idóneo y tomar dos fotos con diferente punto focal para lograr ojos, nariz y boca enfocados.

Descripción: Siempre me ha gustado observar las mariposas y su comportamiento y uno de los hábitos cotidianos cuando se juntan dos mariposas volando es danzar entrelazándose entre ellas, vuelan hacia arriba bailando y cortejándose incluso cuando se juntan mariposas de otras especies diferentes. En esta imagen quería reflejar ese comportamiento con dos bellas Apolo utilizando una baja velocidad de obturación para plasmar el movimiento y crear una imagen con más dinamismo. Mariposas fotografiadas en libertad realizada con la técnica de doble exposición y barrera de infrarrojos colocada sobre una de las plantas donde se alimentan.

Descripción: Una mantis entre unas hojas de helechos secos, mimetizandose con el entorno, mirandome fijamente mientras estaba con sus tareas de limpieza. En pleno mediodia del verano, sobre las 11 de la mañana con el sol muy alto. Como habia unas condiciones de luz tan fuertes y poco favorable para este tipo de fotografia tuve que hacerle sombra al sujeto y al primer plano con un difusor mientras con dos reflectores caseros creados con dos tetabriks de leche cortados rebotaba parte de la luz ambiente hace la mantis. Use un diafragma muy abierto para crear desenfoques que fusionaran la mantis con el entorno en el que se intentaba mimetizar

Descripción: Before I visited the Olympic National Park in 2014 for the first time, there were lots of reports of a horrible desease among the starfish along the US-Westcoast which actually kills most of the sea stars. So I was even more happy, that we could experience all the beauty of these fascinating purple and orange creatures, because it seemed, that there are still countless healthy starfish alive. But of course, I have no idea how the coasts looked like before the outbreak. In this image I tried to capture the behaviour of waiting motionless until the next flood comes in, no matter whether the waves break over them.

A Poignant Discovery de Cristobal Serrano de Alicante (Alacant)

Descripción: With the assistance of a costarricense friend, I discovered the God´s Tree. A magical mangrove situated in an intertidal area, and partially submerged at high tide. This uncommon location for a tree has led the local population to make it a place of pilgrimage, in the belief that it grants miracles to those who beg the tree for them. At night, walking by the rocky side of the beach I spotted a dying sea turtle. Maybe it arrived exhausted on its own pilgrimage to the nesting beaches close to this area. I took the photograph using a 30 minute exposure in order to capture the arch shaped path of the star trails in the sky

Descripción: When the eggs of the leatherback turtle are hatched, the babies have to surface from deep in the sand and then join the sea. They are supposed to follow the moonlight reflexion on the water, but in some urban areas they crawl the wrong way following the public lights. People try to help them with the use of red filtered flashlights pointed at them from the sea. This is a black and white illustration of one of these long nights.
