Ober Gabelhorn - Purity de Thomas Crauwels de Meyrin (Suiza)
Place: Valais - Switzerland
Description: The Obergabelhorn is one of the Alp's 4.000m peaks and one of my favorite mountains. I took this shot after a day of heavy snow in June. Instead of hiking to the place where I took the photo, with a gain of 1.600m, I had to ski on a track with 50cm of fresh snow to get there (usually in June there is not a lot of snow left). The snow was wet and stuck to the side of the mountain, giving a feeling of purity.

Relatividad de Sergio Velasco García de Colima (Mexico)
Place: Volcán de Colima, México
Description: To understand time we approach it from a human scale. But for nature, the human scale is so small that the universe seems endless. Volcanos can be several million years old, eruptions can last minutes and thunder can last tenths of a second. Colima's Volcano, Mexico, January 26 of 2017, at 12.5 Km away.

Una ventana sobre Los Cuernos del Paine de Andrea Pozzi de Bormio (Italia)
Place: Parque Nacional Torres del Paine - Patagonia - Chile
Description: The weather was very moody that afternoon. I was walking among the incredible vegetation of the Patagonia when I set my eyes on this window: the Paine Towers framed by the dead branches of these spectral trees. Light was soft and wonderful, the scene made me think on something I had already seen in a very romantic picture. I tried to showcase the beauty of this mountain range by focusing, almost obsessively, on the composition.

Föhn de Roberto Moiola de cosio valtellino (Italia)
Place: Piz Bernina, Engadin Valley, Switzerland
Description: A föhn, or foehn, is a type of dry, warm, down-slope wind that can be felt in the lee (downwind side) of a mountain range. In this photo the foehn brings with it unexpected cloud conditions and the result is one of the most incredible situations I have ever seen during my activity in the mountains. The peak is Piz Bernina, the highest mountain of the eastern Alps.

Flames of Herostratus de Jan Pusdrowski de Haltern am See (Alemania)
Place: Dolomites, Italy.
Description: Due to the persistent rain (almost two weeks straight) we headed south to Italy to try our luck in the Dolomites. Gladly we were blessed with such a dramatic scene (I guess it was worth the 3hour,-7km- and 1000m elevation gain-hike). This pano was actually taken in a hurry, for the light was changing fastly. Quite frankly I am pretty happy with the outcome and I did not expect the image to be that satisfiable.

Los ojos del Sajama de Juanjo Sierra Alcalá de Madrid (Madrid)
Place: Cordillera de los Andes, Bolivia
Description: Nevado Sajama is the highest mountain in Bolivia with 6.542m. Thanks to its isolated location, this place doesn't have many visitors yet. While I was taking photos at sunset, a lonely cloud drew a shadow on the closest mountains, disjoining the different parts of a very suggestive image. I put together my tele and tried to make the most out of the light.
