Snow spat de Erlend Haarberg de Jakobsli ()
Place: Vauldalen (Noruega)
Description: Mountain hares (Lepus timidus) are nocturnal – even in the mating season, most activity happens under cover of darkness. Fights occur among the individuals, either for food or for the females, but it is seldom observed. This atmospheric image, of softly falling snow around the fighting hares in a perfect position, is a unique moment I had been waiting long to capture.

Cruzando el río de asfalto de Marc Albiac Vilas de Barberà del Vallès (Barcelona)
Place: Barcelona (Espanya)
Description: Visiting Viladecavalls, I saw a family of wild boars (Sus scrofa) eating some leftovers that some of his neighbours had prepared for cats in the area. I spent some days waiting for the moment the animals would cross the curvy street, and one of those days I was very lucky when a mother decided to cross with her two young boars right above the crossing. The curvy shape of the street reminds me of the meanders of a river.

Brown Bear and Ravens de Jari Peltomäki de Oulu (Pohjois-Pohjanmaa)
Place: Suomussalmi (Finlàndia)
Description: This one brown bear (Ursus arctos) lingered until the first morning light. There was not too much light so I had to use long exposure which makes Ravens blurry in flight.

Dawn of Majesties de Rupert Kogler de Linz (Àustria)
Place: Parc Nacional High Tauern, Carintia (Àustria)
Description: It was a wonderful clear morning that particular day, and I could find the Alpine ibex (Capra Ibex) very quickly in darkness in the area I left them the evening before. The herd spent the night on a slope with a stunning view on Austria's highest peak, Mount Großglockner. And right before sunrise, just minutes before the first light hit the top of the mountain, this kind guy posed perfect for a silhouette shot in front of the great backdrop.

In The Paradise de Thomas Vijayan de Oakville (Ontario)
Place: Kamchatka (Rússia)
Description: Kamchatka is stunningly rich in unexploited natural resources and natural beauty. To me animals always look more graceful in their natural habitat than a close up image, I also believe background is very important for any frames along with a proper level to get a real feel of the scenic beauty. As you can see in this frame, the whole of the brown bear (Ursus arctos) habitat compliments each other and hence I call it "In The Paradise".

Otoño en la Sabana de Uge Fuertes Sanz de Monreal del Campo (Teruel)
Place: Parc Nacional Kruger (Sudàfrica)
Description: The Mopane Tree (Colophospermum mopane) brings color to the sabana during the African Autumn, a time in which animals seem to camouflage well with the leaves of this little tree that covers everything. I looked for this effect with the steenbok (Raphicerus campestris) using the foreground out of focus.
