A tidal landscape photographed by drone over the salt marshes near Huelva, capturing the patterns carved out by the receding tide. On this occasion, the side lighting brought the scene to life and gave it a golden hue, lending depth and a striking sense of relief to the landscape.
My photo Dunes in Sunset was taken in Namibia, close to Walvis Bay. This evening was not too fortunate, the sky was rather cloudy, the sun appeared only occasionally. The sky was lost in mist towards the shoreline because of the close proximity of the ocean. At the same time, this situation allowed me to catch a couple of very interesting combinations of light and shadow.
The warm light accentuates the curves and shadows, transforming the landscape into a study in natural geometry, where every line and contour conveys the calm, harmony and visual power of the desert.
In Winter 2025 Mount Etna, Sicilys famous volcano, erupted spectacularly. A stream of molten, glowing rock, emerging from the very depths of the earth, winds its way down the mountain. It splits the landscape in two, with wind and ash turning one side black. An otherworldly sight, experienced over the clouds, I was able to witness through my drone. A moment I will remember forever.
On Iceland’s black beaches, the white foam of the waves stands out against the shadows they cast.
The white of the waves generates light that contrasts with the shadows and the blackness caused by the black sand. The effect is a truly beautiful contrast.
The volcano releases smoke and ash, whilst glowing rocks rise from its crater, revealing the earth’s power and primal beauty in a moment of pure energy.
One of those shots that you can't plan - you just find yourself at the right time at the right place. The wind was so strong that was blowing off the mountains the snow fallen in the past days, creating a surreal atmosphere.
