Description: Cádiz is the southernmost province of Spain. Humid and warm air currents from the Atlantic can hold average temperatures of 15 °C in winter. This guarantees a true explosion of color in the famous Costa de la Luz, when wild flowers radically transform the landscape as spring arrives. Soon after dusk, when the wind started hitting the cliff, I was able to take this beautiful and dynamic image as the low tide slowly undressed nearby rocks.

Polvo y calor de Oriol Alamany Sesé de Barcelona (Barcelona)
Place: Parc Nacional Namib-Naukluft, Namíbia
Description: In the early evening of a day in October, the extreme heat causes a sand storm in the Tsauchab valley, set within the high dunes of the Namib dessert. The wind blows the sand between the tree skeletons growing at the bottom of the former river bed, highlighting their dramatic silhouettes.

Description: I always dreamed of shooting the best waterfalls in Iceland just before the spring snowmelt. Towards the end of winter I only could reach Aldeyjarfoss waterfall by using a super jeep and a snowmobile. The river Skjálfandafljót flows under the ice sheet and jumps over a magnificent wall of hexagonal basalt columns which reach twenty metres in height. The powdery blue of the water at the base of the waterfall witnesses the glacier origin of the watercourse.

Description: One autumn afternoon the fog covered the valley. A small truce left this group of trees uncovered at the top of the hill. The reddish tones covering the sky are due to the altitude in Slovakia, the country where the photograph was taken. Although the picture was taken at 1:17 pm, around this date the angle of the sun is relatively low, and sunsets can stretch out for a lengthily period of time.

Description: To be able to see and hear an erupting volcano is an incredible experience. The Mama Tungurahua showed all its splendour at the right time, at dawn, with Venus shining beside it. The combination of colours and contrasts was perfect, with a backlight that accentuated the volcano's silhouette.

Bailando en la oscuridad de Daniel Salgado Lemos de Sada (A Coruña)
Place: Las Tablas de Daimiel, Ciudad Real (Espanya)
Description: Cold morning covered in fog. The trees dance on their reflection in the frozen water at Tablas de Daimiel national park. A calm and silent environment only interrupted at times by some Coots (Fulica atra) and the birdsongs of the Cranes (Grus grus).
