Description: Group of minute ants of 1.5 mm long, commonly named Ghost Ants (Tapinoma melanocephalum), because of their abdomen and translucent legs. In my home garden, they benefit from the nectar dropped by the hummingbirds.

Description: Gossamer-winged Butterflies (Lycaenidae) photographed freely at dawn spreading their wings with the first rays of sunlight to warm from the cold morning. I like working with white backgrounds when I photograph butterflies, especially if I manage to capture the moment when they open their wings, because this enhances the colour and shape of these beautiful insects.

Description: Whilst I was trying to photograph an orchid, I had a pleasant encounter with this always attractive nymph of Conehead Mantis (Empusa pennata) near a large Dill (Anethum graveolens). It was placed on the plant with extreme care and left to amble along it. For a moment, the scene took a different scale in my head and my perception of the image changed completely... Mantis on Dill.

Place: Parc Nacional Ranomafana, Madagascar
Description: Boophis viridis or Green Bright-eyed Frog photographed in Madagascar (Ranomafana National Park). This species of tree frog in the Mantellidae family is endemic to Madagascar. Its natural habitats are tropical moist lowland forests. It is currently catalogued as Least Concern due to the high rate of deforestation and fragmentation of its habitat.
