The "Mogote de los suicidas" is a rock formation with a very unique shape, which to me resembles the profile of a virgin or a person in prayer. It is harder to climb at night. In this shot you can already see the rappel on the north face.
In the middle of a thunderstorm, and while killing time until the rain stopped, I saw these hikers in spectacular light, so I quickly put the telephoto lens on my camera and, almost on the brink of losing sight of them, I took this picture. I was lucky that they were forming a long line of hikers. You can see how some of them are beginning to disappear behind the terrain.
I was waiting for such a sky for over two months. I wanted to show the sky, and at the same time I wanted to be seen with the headlamp on. It took ten minutes from the very beginning to the end of this panorama, which required many photos of which I only used twelve. The tricky thing during the time is that the clouds move fast and the light and colour change drastically in seconds.
An alpinist battling the very harsh weather conditions on a day of severe winter blizzard in the Italian Dolomites. Days like this are proof of the perseverance and passion that mountaineers have to conquer their dreams.
Climbers making their way up through the difficult and dangerous icefall formed by the Khumbu glacier on the way to the summit of Everest, the highest mountain on the planet. Such place as beautiful and impressive makes us insignificant.
Days and weeks of planing go through my yearly project in order to be placed at the perfect spot, and reach the perfect timing. The auroras are dancing in the southern sky on our way up to the platform. The mission is completed after climbing 800m elevation on very steep slopes of 47 degrees under -21c. This image is a 2 shots vertical panorama, helping to capture geometry into the foreground.
The intrepid shape of Diego Molano, a highline athlete, emerges from a landscape mysteriously faded by the thick fog. The taut rope, barely visible in the mist, becomes the only tangible anchor in this ethereal setting. The athlete's balance, defying the uncertainties that hide the mist in the void of more than 250 metres.
