Opresión de Miguel Ángel Rubio Robles de Madrid (Spain)
Place: Zoológico de Madrid - Madrid - España
Description: I was struck by the number of prints on a glass cube where the TUFTED CAPUCHIN (Cebus apella) were kept. I saw how they stopped in front of the glass, placing their hands on it and giving hitting it with a melancholic look. They wanted to get out of there. Photograph taken under controlled circumstances.

Phototaxis de Imre Potyó de Göd (Pest)
Place: Hungary, Göd
Description: I would like to draw attention to endangered night insects, especially those living near villages, and the environmental problems affecting them. Insects are a key part of life on Earth as pollinators and prey for other animals as well. Studies show some species such as butterflies are currently declining in numbers. GEOMETER MOTH female (Camptogramma bilineata).

En el encierro del balam de Edgar Eduardo Becerril García de La Paz (Baja California Sur)
Place: San Blas - Nayarit - México
Description: Nowadays, jaguars are no longer venerated as the God they used to be. Worshipping the natural environment is not common anymore in the Mexican jungle, but some sanctuaries are devoting themselves to protecting the ancient gods that are now punished by mankind. In this cage, a balam, a jaguar in the Mayan language (Panthera onca), recovers from injuries caused by local residents.

Danger on the road de Luca Giordano de Torino ()
Place: Maremma Regional Park, Italy
Description: A red fox (Vulpes vulpes) crosses the road while some cars are passing by. This time a hard brake saved the little mammal: but what will happen to the next one? This picture aims to raise awareness about the risks that wild animals face everyday on our roads and railways.

Un lugar para anidar de Juan Jesus Gonzalez Ahumada de Ojén (Màlaga)
Place: San Roque - Cadiz - España
Description: This image is an example of fauna adaptation. In this particular case, two white storks (Ciconia ciconia) are seen in an anthropological and industrialized environment such as an oil refinery, which a priori does not seem to be the most ideal place to nest and perpetuate the species. However, despite the noise , the lights and polluting fumes, they have decided to stay in this environment.

La frontera del desastre de Roberto Bueno Hernández de Hospitalet del Infante (Tarragona)
Place: Belice
Description: When taking off from Belize, the cabin of the plane was flooded with the unmistakable smell of vegetal smoke. The view through the windows revealed the harsh situation of tropical forests. The image could be cut in two and show only the beautiful piece of intact jungle. Unfortunately it would show a false reality.
