Description: Over the last twenty-five years the Western lowland gorilla (Gorilla gorilla gorilla) population has declined by 60%. The cause of this decrease is due to poaching and disease. Still in some remote rainforests gorillas have managed to remain uninfluenced by humankind. In other areas, like in Odzala National Park the opposite has happened and gorillas have become habituated to the presence of humans. In this specific picture I tried to portray the gorilla in relation to its surroundings. As deforestation is worsening there will be less fruits available.

Description: A couple of Iberian Ibex (Capra pyrenaica victoriae) in heat at the Sierra de Gredos mountain range. The photograph was taken after going down a steep hill and performing an approach to the group of goats in the area. The image shows how a large male shows its tongue to the female to try and attract her.

Description: Photographing wolves has been my great passion for some years. As hunting (both legal and illegal) has made wolves in Finland very careful animals, the success rate of even seeing those is low and getting a photograph is even lower. It has been particularly difficult to capture winter photographs. Only once I have experienced this European wolf (Canis lupus lupus) at the blue hour.

Description: During the Christmas holidays this year I went with all my family to Andújar to see the lynx in the wild. We were very lucky, and we saw this male Iberian lynx (Lynx pardinus) accompanied by a female just a few meters away.
