Sunglasses de Aitor Gonzalez Barinagarrementeria de Gernika-Lumo (Vizcaya)
Place: Castro Valnera, Cordillera Cantábrica (España)
Description: During a winter day with good weather, one of those that I normally don't like taking winter photographs in, when I was walking down the Castro Valnera summit, the shape of the shadow that was in the area below caught my eye. I took the 70-200mm out of my backpack and told my partner to go right under the shade to give the place some dimension.

Primeras luces en el Lautaro de Jose Allende Marcos de cangas de onis (Asturias)
Place: Volcán Lautaro, Chile
Description: We left at 00:00 for the summit. After 6 hours of ascent at night and in harsh conditions, with a very cold and strong blizzard, the most beautiful sunrise that my eyes have seen began. I saw my partner Pedro Cifuentes fight with the blizzard while, behind, the first rays of sunlight illuminated both the Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre.

Circo de los Altares de Jose Allende Marcos de cangas de onis (Asturias)
Place: Campo de Hielo Patagónico Sur (Chile)
Description: We were on our way back from our expedition to the Lautaro volcano. As the day started we entered the Ice Field with a lot of wind and clouds that were telling us to leave the place as soon as possible. As we passed through the circus of the Altars, I walked away from my colleagues enough to zoom in on the background, using the zoom, and getting this image.

Tirolesa hacia el torre de Jose Allende Marcos de cangas de onis (Asturias)
Place: PN de los Glaciares, Chalten (Argentina)
Description: Picture taken in Los Glaciares National Park, Patagonia. On the way to the Torre glacier, you have to pass a small zip line that crosses the river coming out of the Torre lagoon. We had been looking at the Torre mountain, hidden between clouds, all day. When we got ready to cross the zip line, we saw the sky opening a bit, just enough to photograph my partner crossing the zip line.

Mogote de los Suicidas de Javier Urbón de colmenar Viejo (Madrid)
Place: La Pedriza del Manzanares, PN Sierra de Guadarrama (España)
Description: On the occasion of the publication of Pedriza Posterior's new climbing guide its author, Papila, asked me to take some pictures for it. We chose this cliff for its spectacular outline and for dominating the landscape of La Pedriza from above. The photo was taken at dawn, with the first rays of the sun. It ended up being the cover of the new guide.
