I did have that photography mission on Icelandic glaciers in my mind for almost two years. It is finally in September 2021 that the shot was taken at midnight under the rising full moon and its halo. Helgi was climbing out of this ice monster under the most epic conditions. The dark, cold, wet and loud conditions did not make the shooting easy but extremely rewarding.
This year I photographed the Freeride World Tour at Baqueira. Once the competition was over I met an old and at the same time very young friend of mine, Urko Yarza, he is the future! ... We planned and improvised something quick at dusk and he gifted me with the best picture of the day, much better than any other of the ones that I took during the competition.
With the eruption of the volcano "Cumbre vieja", we set out to hike a high mountain route with full moon and to contemplate the volcano from high up in La Caldera de Taburiente.
The best Polish ice climber Krzysztof Rychlik is sending "Banana Joe" M9, spectacular line with a huge ice curtain on the edge of the rock roof in Bielovodská Dolina, High Tatras.
A rock arch next to a bouldering area inspired me to create an aesthetic similar to the so called "The eye of Mordor" from the film "Lord of the Rings". To add colour and detail to the center, I used three flashes. One of them fitted with an orange filter.
Adršpach- the famous Czech climbing crag captivates with incredible shapes of the sandstone rocks. I wanted to balance the available light with flashlight to illume the dark shadows of the chimney and create a ray of light with flash on the edge of rock, and connect all the lines - rock edges and light in X letter with the climber —my friend Paweł Zieliński— in the center of composition.
Photograph taken with a long exposure at night with the Milky Way along with a slight light pollution from a small lighthouse and two small flash bursts to be able to freeze the climber. This photograph was taken in the area of Santanyí, a spot for climbers and bathed by the sea.
