The Cumbre Vieja Volcano roared for months and caused real problems in the lives of its neighbours, but it also gifted us with unique scenes. I especially liked this scenery because it suggests a journey through space to some other planet that is currently being created.
In February 2020 I was in Iceland, in the Fjallsárlón glacier the sunlight typical of winter of Iceland created this rainbow through the mist over the blue ice. Nature as if it were a painter and a sculptor at the same time that paints the acro-rainbow with its pastel shades and sculpts the particular textures of the ice.
Visiting the Fagradalsfjall volcano in the south of Iceland has been one of the most impressive experiences I have ever had. I visited in mid-May and at that time the volcano was erupting intermittently every 5-7 minutes or so. The photographed scene is unusual, the volcano is quiet, since everyone waits for the strong eruptions to photograph.
The paths of a two gusts of wind dance across the ice. A minimalistic landscape featuring two wind trails skating away across a frozen lake’s surface. The shades of grey and elegant shapes carved by the wind are reminiscent of Inuit soapstone sculptures.
This is the last ray of light over the forest in the Stanisoarei Mountains somewhere near my lake Cuejdel after a beautiful sunny winter day. I love the contrast created by the cold and warm light. I had the pleasure of seeing such scenery for the first and only time.
In the cold night of black sands, over the snowy mountains drawing the swing of the sea waves on the beach; the northen green lights appears trying to be a reflection of what the firmament above is offering these days.
The balance and dramatic vibe in this capture represent low light afternoon during winter in northern Norway. These root systems can be found everywhere here, but you would just walk by them, without paying attention. They are crawling on the ground and I found them really interesting to build a strong composition and a leading subject under the polar light.
