Bajo la tormenta de Oscar Díez Martinez de Madrid (Madrid)
Place: Livingstone (Guatemala)
Description: A big number of birds like these Great Egrets (Ardea alba), gather late in the evening around the coast near to the town of Livingstone in order to benefit from the fish rests that fishermen in the area leave in the sea. That evening a storm developed in the background, allowing for a big contrast between the white colour of the birds and the dark colour of the sky. The picture was taken with an underwater housing.

Newborn de Andy Parkinson de MATLOCK (Derbyshire)
Place: Derbyshire (Anglaterra)
Description: A newborn swan (Cygnus sp.), just one day old, rests in the protective warmth of her mother's plumage. Before this youngster was even born i would go and sit near the nest, acclimating the parents to my presence. I was also there when this infant was born and so the trust that I'd earned allowed me to work at close quarters.

Late Lunch de Kevin Morgans de Birkenhead (Choose...)
Place: Fair Isle, Illes Shetland (Regne Unit)
Description: Fair Isle is my favorite Scottish island measuring at just 3km wide and barely 5km long it is Britain's most remote inhabited island. It can be found marooned in the North Sea between Shetland and Orkney. Due to its location, it is not the easiest place to get to. But once you set foot on the island, it truly is a Atlantic Puffin (Fratercula arctica) paradise.

Rain Bath de Kristhian Castro de Cali (Valle)
Place: Cali, Valle del Cauca (Colòmbia)
Description: In the time we were under lockdown, I observed nature from my balcony and noticed this Steely-vented Hummingbird (Amazilia saucerottei) showing up every time it rained. It would rest on this branch and get a shower. I found its ritual very charming and decided to photograph it. I had to learn to anticipate its moves and shoot many times to be able to show the exact moment the hummingbird shakes off the water.

Place: Roma (Itàlia)
Description: I was lurking in a swamp outside Rome on a rainy morning and everything seemed quiet and peaceful. Finally, after several hours of waiting, a Great Egret (Ardea alba) settled down a few meters away from me. I decided not to shoot right away to avoid frightening it, and then another great egret flew in displaying this challenging attitude.

Jumps in the snow de Igor Altuna Azkargorta de Mondragon (Guipuzcoa)
Place: Illa Hokkaido (Japó)
Description: Two Red-crowned Cranes (Grus japonensis) were jumping during a heavy snowfall on a snow-covered field. One of them was playing with a little branch by throwing it up in the air and the other one was trying to take it away from it. With all the snow falling on the field it looked as if the two cranes were dancing together in slow motion.
