In a photo, a Winter moth (Geometridae), visible, shape a ghost shape with a wing. They fly in the cold autumn forest. I tried to take a picture of it to see the dynamics of his flight. To do this, I chose a long shutter speed, put the flash on Second Curtain and lit it with an LED lamp. Sometimes I managed to have a sharp picture. Fortunately, one of the pictures shows a shape next to the butterfly.
The pappus in the image are delicate plant seeds (Asteraceae), very sensitive and very light. The composition of the photograph has been extremely complicated given the large number of pappus used, their size and lightness, especially if we take into account that one of the aims was to make all of them visible.
"Glacial Enigma" unveils the soul of Cuejdel, Romania's grand natural dam lake. Winter's embrace, as seen from above, is my poetic pursuit. Amidst the frozen ballet upon the lake's mirrored canvas, nature's silent symphony unfolds. Here, where ice and sky converge, the imagination knows no bounds.
Lake Magadi offers surreal patterns as backdrops to photograph Lesser flamingos (Phoeniconaias minor) flying over the lake. A dark background dotted with celestial patterns made it an ideal frame to make a monochrome. I shot this picture from an ultralight helicopter.
Wild daffodil (Narcissus pseudonarcissus) -called "lirones" in the Mountains of Palencia, Spain-, are early flowers that sprout at the end of winter. It is a rarity to see these flowers covering oak groves, but in secret areas of the Brañosera forests the miracle is done. It is a single photo, taken with an ND10 filter to gain 13 seconds of exposure: 8 seconds for the ground full of flowers and the rest of the exposure time on the trees behind me, tilting the tripod.
Insects collected in a lamp during summer. There was an accidental opening on the lamp of my house, and after the summer, a rich collection of insects was found. This is a reminder of the vanishing, important small creatures around us that we do not see. I arrranged the insects on my light table with light both from above and underneath.
On the tidal flats of Algorri beach, in the very heart of the Basque Coast Geopark, these creatures appear, carried by the water. Their colours, textures and shapes make us think of creatures from other worlds (Anthozoa).
